British Red Cross

Jack rarely spoke of the misery and hardship that he endured as a POW and never to my knowledge spoke about the Death March.   He did however speak about the British Red Cross and how their food parcels helped him survive the 4 years of inefficient POW rations, hard labour and the 3 month Death March.  He continued to support the Red Cross throughout his life. 

And the British Red Cross continue to do an amazing job today, helping people in crisis all over the World, from supporting communities following natural disaster like the earthquake in Haiti to civil war in Darfur through to those affected by terrorism here and abroad.  They do some amazing work in training people in first aid to supporting others following trauma.
